ChessKidz Advanced Online Class Syllabus New Hampshire Chess Club Course Title: ChessKidz Advanced: The Art of Attack in Chess Instructor: Coach Jake Duration: 16 Weeks Schedule: Mondays, 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Class Location: Zoom Start Date: January 20 End Date: May 5 Course Description This course is designed for advanced young chess players who wish to deepen their tactical skills and understanding of attacking strategies in chess. Based on Vladimir Vuković’s classic book "The Art of Attack in Chess," students will explore comprehensive methods to enhance their offensive gameplay. Each class will cover different key topics from the book, supported by historical game analyses, practical exercises, and interactive discussions to foster a robust understanding of chess attacks. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, students will: 1. Understand and apply various chess attack strategies against both castled and uncastled kings. 2. Recognize and utilize mating patterns and focal points effectively. 3. Coordinate multiple pieces to construct powerful attacks. 4. Develop critical thinking and decision-making skills in complex positions. 5. Gain confidence in executing strategic plans during competitive play.

Cancellation Policy
1. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy 1.1 Where a private lesson results in being cancelled due to the New Hampshire Chess Club teacher being unable to attend, the student can choose to either receive a full refund or credit towards a future lesson. 1.2 Where the New Hampshire Chess Club teacher has received less than 12 hours’ notice of the student wishing to cancel or reschedule a private lesson, the lesson will not be refunded and will be charged at the agreed rate for the full scheduled time. 1.3 If the student is late for a private lesson, the New Hampshire Chess Club teacher is not obligated to continue beyond the scheduled end time and the lesson will be charged at the agreed rate for the full scheduled time. 1.4 If the student chooses to terminate a private lesson early, the lesson will be charged at the agreed hourly for the full scheduled time. 1.5 Where a student wishes to cancel a prepaid chess club or chess camp commitment with 7 days’ notice prior to the first session being taught, the student can choose a full-refund or credit towards a future New Hampshire Chess Club program. If the student wishes to cancel with fewer than 7 days’ notice, the student can choose a 50% refund for the remaining sessions or credit of the same amount. 1.6 Credit will be held for 12 months from the day of purchase.
